The JNS-W70/JNS-W500 long-range color code sensors are a high-performance series developed for detecting color, color code, and appearance differences over medium to long distances. They utilize a wide-spectrum white LED light source, enabling stable recognition of subtle changes on colored, black-and-white, and various material surfaces. In applications such as printing and packaging, lithium electrode sheets, electronic assembly, automotive parts, plastic spraying, and food and drug packaging, they provide reliable online detection capabilities.

The built-in background suppression algorithm of the sensor can effectively distinguish between target color codes and complex backgrounds, avoiding false positives and missed detections due to changes in substrate color and reflectivity. The white LED covers the visible light range at once, and is less picky about color compared to monochromatic light sources. It has stronger adaptability to printing errors, batch color differences, and surface gloss changes, and can handle both “presence” and “color” detection tasks.

This series offers two detection distance specifications: JNS-W70 is suitable for short and medium-range detection from 30 to 70mm. With a reference distance of 50mm, the light spot is approximately 1.6×2.9mm, enabling precise positioning of narrow color bars, small labels, and fine patterns; JNS-W500 is suitable for long-range detection from 50 to 500mm. At distances of 100mm, 250mm, and 500mm, the light spot diameters are approximately 3.5mm, 9mm, and 20mm, respectively. It allows for fine recognition at close range and stable detection of wide color bands or large-area color blocks at longer distances, making it ideal for applications where installation space is limited or cross-line detection is required.

In terms of response speed, the JNS-W70/JNS-W500 offers five selectable options: 200µs, 1ms, 10ms, 100ms, and 500ms. Users can freely switch between “High-Speed Response” and “Anti-Interference Filtering” to adapt to different working conditions such as high-speed conveyor lines, intermittent movement, or jittering workpieces. Additionally, it supports the installation of multiple devices side by side. By setting different operating frequencies, mutual interference can be suppressed, allowing up to two devices to operate stably together.

The electrical specifications adopt a power supply of 10~30VDC (including ripple P-P 10%), with a current of less than 50mA when operating at 24V and less than 110mA when operating at 12V. It features low power consumption and minimal heat generation, making it suitable for centralized installation of multiple units. The output terminal supports NPN or PNP open collector mode, with a maximum switching voltage of 30V and a single output current of 100mA, allowing direct connection to control devices such as PLCs, relays, or counters. The sensor comes with various timer modes such as OFF, power-on delay, disconnect delay, and single-shot, which can complete time delay and pulse shaping internally, simplifying external logic. The external input terminal can be used for tuning, stop/enable mode switching, facilitating on-site one-button teaching and remote control.

To ensure long-term stable operation, the JNS-W70/JNS-W500 is equipped with comprehensive protection circuits, including power polarity reversal protection, power surge protection, output overcurrent and short circuit protection, etc., which can minimize the risk of damage even in case of wiring errors. In terms of environmental adaptability, it can operate in strong light environments with illumination levels below 10,000 lux for incandescent lamps and below 20,000 lux for sunlight, with an operating temperature range of -20 to +50℃, and remains stable in non-condensing environments. Its anti-vibration capability is 10 to 55 Hz, with a double amplitude of 1.5 mm for 2 hours in each of the X/Y/Z directions, and its impact resistance is 1,000 m/s², making it reliable even under harsh working conditions.

The mechanical structure adopts a high-strength die-cast zinc alloy shell, with a sturdy and impact-resistant surface, achieving a protection level of IP65, which is dustproof and waterproof. The indicator window is made of PC material, and the operation buttons are made of stainless steel. The entire device weighs approximately 128g, with a compact size and flexible installation. The series supports IO-LINK communication, allowing for bidirectional data connection with the upper control system, enabling online parameter adjustment, status monitoring, and preventive maintenance. It is an ideal color code sensing solution for building intelligent production lines.
